Dr. Jennifer Walia
MD, MPH, FACOG
Brief info
Dr Jennifer Walia is from Buffalo, New York. She went to the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at The City College of New York, where she received an undergraduate degree in biomedical science and started on an accelerated medical school path. She then went on complete her medical school training and subsequent residency training in OB/GYN in Albany, NY at Albany Medical Center. She completed a year of pediatrics after medical school before finding her way back to OB/GYN. She has been practicing in New York City since 2018. During this time, she also used her spare time to take call as part-time faculty at Albany Medical Center after completing her residency, and she continues to serve as an attending "parent" for residents at Mount Sinai through their "residency families." She became fully board certified in 2019. She enjoys the range of ages and medical concerns that make up the breadth of general OB/GYN, and she finds the connection with patients to be the most rewarding part of the profession. She has special interests in contraception and mood issues related to both contraception and pregnancy. Outside of work, she enjoys running (although she will never be as fast as Dr Cha!), downhill skiing, reading, spending time with friends and family, and hanging out with her cat. She is very excited to be joining Dr Cha and Dr Jackson!
